SPRING 2015 / backstage shooting
"SPRING 2015 / backstage shooting" is a look behind the camera at the shoot for our first spring capsule, which we made in 2015, the year we founded MAGNETIC. The 18 frames below are not the finished pictures, but the work that makes them: the studio, the light, the people and the clothes before they are ready.
This campaign shows what happens behind the scenes: how the first photo shoot of the very first MAGNETIC collection was made. Everything was done with great enthusiasm by young professionals, with inspiration and a strong wish to work.
It is about how a fashion brand works and how everything began: how we prepared the first shoot and how we presented the collection. It was the very beginning.
The photographer of this shoot was Anton Garets. Hair and makeup stylist Iren Romm and model Ekaterina Stankevich worked with him.
The set SPRING 2015 / preview belongs with this one: both are built around our very first lookbook, and the preview shows the lookbook frames made on the same day.
The mood
The studio is large and bright, with white brick walls, tall windows and a wooden floor. Lights stand on tripods, one with a white umbrella reflector, another with a softbox, and the crew sits behind them in chairs, looking at the camera and at the monitor. A makeup artist works on a model's face, a stylist sprays her hair, and someone holds the hem of a long skirt. Several frames are in black and white, and they feel like a quiet document of a day of work.
The looks
You can see the pieces of the capsule on the models. A full-skirted turquoise dress with a white collar and a white belt, a pink strappy top with a light blue skirt, a long black skirt with a flared hem and a black crop top, a red suit, and a short black dress with a white collar and a wide-brimmed black hat. We kept the shapes clean and the color bold, as the video BE MAGNETIC and the set SPRING 2015 / preview show.
Why we publish it
We believe that a finished frame is only a part of the story. The people on the set, from the stylists to the photographer, are the reason that the clothes look the way they do, and we are glad to show them.

The white collar and the full skirt are still part of how we think about dresses. See the dresses, and for the long skirt, the maxi skirt. The black cropped piece of that spring has a modern counterpart in the black oversize crop top.
