MAGNETIC SUMMER 2015 / preview

"MAGNETIC SUMMER 2015 / preview" is a set of five frames from the summer campaign that we shot in 2015, the year we founded MAGNETIC. It includes stills and frames from the video, and it shows the place where the whole campaign was made: a small airfield with a hangar and light aircraft. This is a preview of summer 2015, the behind-the-scenes part of the advertising campaign. We shot photo and video at the Hydroport. A large creative team worked on the shoot: photographers, videographers, models and drivers. We had a wonderful time.

The mood

The frames are warm and open. Outside, the light is low and gold, the grass is dry, and the sky is wide; inside the hangar there are metal trusses and the white body of an aircraft, and the colors are deeper. One frame is cut in a wide cinema format with black bars above and below: a model in profile, in a green and white visor, against a field with two small aircraft on the horizon. It is a summer without a crowd, in which the only sound is the wind.

The looks

A turquoise dress with an asymmetric hem and an open side moves with the model as she walks across the grass, and she wears flat black sandals and a visor. In the hangar a model in a short red dress leans on the wing of an aircraft, while a man in a red shirt films her with a camera. These two colors, turquoise and red, are the whole palette of the preview.

Behind the picture

Two of the frames show the shoot in progress, with the camera operator in the picture. We like to leave such frames in the set, because they show that the clothes were worn by people who moved, stopped and posed on a working day at the airfield.

Why an airfield

An airfield gives space and a horizon, and in a short film space is the best background for fabric that moves. We chose clothes that move with the body, and the wind did the rest of the work.
