MAGNETIC is a lifestyle
"MAGNETIC is a lifestyle" is our 2016 shoot built on one idea: a suit can be the most colorful thing that you wear. The 16 frames below were shot in a sea port, in the daylight among harbor cranes and then in the evening in a dark garage, and in every frame one model stands next to the same old gray coupe.
MAGNETIC is a lifestyle shows new, different suits photographed with a characteristic car: a tuned Nissan Skyline. The car is bold, street-style, legendary, with character and an art mood, like our MAGNETIC girls and the new spring suits.
We have always wanted to show strictness and elegance, so we chose a matching car as the accessory.
The Nissan Skyline is a legendary racing model, and among drivers it is considered a very cool car. Taya is one of the designer’s favorite models of that time, and the designer likes this shoot very much.
The mood
The day frames are bright and hard: a blue sky, a cobbled quay, water and cranes behind, and the coupe with its wide wheels, which the model leans on or sits in. The evening frames are the opposite. The garage is almost black, the headlights of a car glow, and the light falls on a pale suit and picks it out of the dark. The sunglasses are in every look, white or red, and so are the heels: nude pumps, black ones and light blue platforms.
The looks
Color is the subject. A fuchsia suit with a white shirt; two reds, one with red sunglasses; a green suit with yellow shoes; a yellow suit worn from the open door of the car; a white tuxedo jacket with black lapels and white trousers. In the evening, a light blue three-piece suit with a waistcoat, a pale pink suit and a navy three-piece suit. Almost every look has the same white shirt, so the suit alone changes the picture.
What was written about it
In spring 2016 two bloggers wrote about our suits: a note on how to choose a pantsuit with a three-piece suit of that season, and a look with a peach three-piece suit. Both say what we said in the shoot: a suit is practical, and you can wear it with heels, loafers or sneakers.
