Lady Di for MAGNETIC summer 2019
"Lady Di for MAGNETIC summer 2019" is a shoot from the summer of 2019 in the narrow streets of an old city. The seven frames below are warm and sunlit, and the title points to the kind of elegance that we were looking for: calm, structured and not afraid of being noticed.
This street-style shoot with Diana is about an Odesa girl: a bright girl from Odesa, the embodiment of an Odesa woman, classic and beautiful.
The shoot was photographed by Maria Markevich: this is her vision of MAGNETIC girls.
The mood
The streets are sandstone and old wooden doors, and the light is low and golden. A model in sunglasses walks along the pavement and the wind lifts her hair; in another frame she leans against a stone wall with a silk scarf in her ponytail; in a third she sits at a café table with a cup of coffee in the shade of green leaves. The mood is a morning walk that turns into a meeting and then into a long lunch.
The looks
The palette is navy and cream. The first look is a dark blue double-breasted blazer with a belt at the waist, worn with sunglasses and a leather bag with a patterned scarf tied to the handle. The second is a navy suit with a double-breasted jacket and wide trousers, shown full length against the wall. The third is a cream midi dress with a black heart print, a V-neckline, ruffles on the shoulders and a slit, worn with a necklace of pearls. We kept the accessories small and few: scarf, sunglasses, pearls.
The idea
A double-breasted jacket, a scarf and a pearl necklace are signs of a classic wardrobe, and we wanted to show that they work as well in a city street in summer as in a formal room. The dress with a print and the suit are two answers for two moods, and they share the same calm line.
