AUTUMN MOOD

"AUTUMN MOOD" is our shoot from the autumn of 2020, made in the city and in a park among yellow leaves. The twelve frames below are about one season and one habit: a long coat with a belt as the center of the look.

This is a shoot about autumn in Odesa: a simple walk around the city, an autumn mood and a beautiful autumn day. A light shoot about exactly that.

It was photographed by Maria Markevich, and this is again her vision of MAGNETIC girls. The model was Viktoria Parkhomenko, whom we affectionately called Vishenka, which means little cherry.

The mood

The frames are warm and sunlit. A cobbled path in the park is covered with leaves, the trees are gold and green, and the afternoon light comes at an angle from the side. In the city frames the model stands on the steps of a glass building, on a white stone balustrade among ivy, and on a bridge with a street lamp behind her. She smiles, holds a hat in her hand, laughs, turns around. It is autumn as a pleasant occasion to go out, not as a season to hide from.

The looks

The palette is rust brown, red, plum and blue. A long rust-brown coat with buttons and a belt is worn over a blue jumpsuit with wide legs, and again in the park over a printed dress. A red double-breasted coat with a belt goes with a black dress and a black cap, and a patterned scarf is held in the hand. A plum belted suit comes with a wide-brimmed hat and a bucket bag in the same plum. Hats appear in almost every frame: a felt hat with a wide brim, a dark cap, and a plum felt one.

How to take the idea

Choose one long coat and leave the rest plain. A belt makes a coat a silhouette, and a hat or a scarf in the same color family makes it a look. The color of the coat can be bold, because underneath a dress or a jumpsuit can be dark or neutral.
