COSMIC CAPSULE 2015-16 / ADV CAMPAIGN
COSMIC CAPSULE 2015-16 is our advertising campaign for an early capsule collection, made in the first year after we founded MAGNETIC in March 2015. The 14 frames below were shot in a loft with a leather sofa, a metal trunk and cool, dim light.
Cosmic Capsule is a little about futurism, about cold and otherworldliness. The collection came out in late autumn, with a grey, magical mood: wind, a winter sea, mermaids, winter sirens.
We chose a location by the sea, near the iconic M1 hotel in Odesa, on the sea. The heroines were selected so that the girls look like sisters who resemble each other.
It was photographed again by Anton Garets: for the designer, everything created with him is among the very best. The model Lera Marienko is one of the designer’s favorite models: she steps into every look with great skill.
The mood
The palette is cold and deep: cobalt blue, terracotta and the gray shimmer of sequins. Two models appear together in several frames, and the camera stays close — hands on a mirrored tile counter, a profile against a window, a pose on the sofa. Red lipstick and braided hair are the only repeated accents.
The looks
Suede is the main material of the campaign. A cobalt-blue suede mini dress and a terracotta one both have a high collar and sleeves covered with gray sequins; the terracotta one has a zip down the front. In another frame a terracotta suede jacket with belts and metal buckles is worn over a sequin turtleneck, and gray over-the-knee boots appear in the styling. The combination of matte suede and sparkling sequins is what the campaign is built on.
The collection

The recipe of the campaign is simple: a matte suede piece and one sparkling detail. As our journal piece on sequins suggests, choose a single item with sequins, such as a turtleneck, a top or a skirt, and keep the rest of the look calm, so the outfit stays original without feeling overloaded.
