It’s all about #MAGNETIC_girls
"It's all about #MAGNETIC_girls" is one of our advertising shoots from 2015, the year we founded MAGNETIC in Odesa. The 24 frames below were shot in a loft with raw concrete, white brick and a dark wooden floor, and almost every frame is about the same idea: a woman in a suit.
This shoot of suits at the Tishina café was originally planned as an extension of the colour palette: we added white and graphite to the suits and wanted to photograph them.
We wanted to show what magnetic appeal the suits give a girl and how fully they keep her femininity. In the look with Taya we did not even change the sandals for heels: the suit looked good with the androgynous sandals she had come in.
We photographed all our first campaigns with Anton Garets. It was a creative union of a photographer and a designer, in which both understood and felt the MAGNETIC girl in the same way. We invited three models who were already very popular in Ukraine and abroad at that time, and each of them presented the suits well.

The mood
The set is simple and a little severe: a concrete wall, a wooden door that opens onto a dark room, a green leather sofa, a café table with a magazine on it. A green EXIT sign hangs above the door, and we left it in the frame. The color comes only from the clothes, so the loft works as a neutral stage. Three models stand shoulder to shoulder in some frames and lie on the sofa in others, and the poses are relaxed rather than formal.
The looks
The shoot is built on trouser suits in red, cobalt blue, white, charcoal gray and black, each worn with a white shirt. In one frame the red and the blue suits stand next to each other; in another three models wear white, gray and black. A blue suit with satin lapels is worn open over a bare torso, a style that we repeat in the second set from the same loft, #MAGNETIC_girls / film by Anton Garets. The shoes are stiletto pumps and black platform sandals.
What was written about it
In June 2015 Airport Magazine wrote about our tuxedos in a feature on a girl in MAGNETIC style, and a few months later our journal published a guide to wearing a tuxedo. Both texts come back to the same thought that this shoot shows: strictness and femininity are not opposites.
